|Two clinicians join IS leadership group
PORTLAND, Maine – September 13, 2013 – MaineHealth announced today that James “Andy” Crowder has been named chief information officer (CIO) for the MaineHealth system. Crowder has served as interim CIO since March, bringing more than 20 years of experience spanning healthcare, hospitality and engineering technology to his new role.
In a joint announcement to staff, William Caron, president of MaineHealth, and Jeff Sanders, chief operating officer at Maine Medical Center, stated, “We were pleased that we attracted Andy to MaineHealth in the interim CIO role last spring, and are even more pleased that he will lead our IT initiatives going forward. The experience and expertise that he brought to MaineHealth combined with his achievements since and the respect he has gained have had a significant impact.”
Crowder notes that he is excited for the opportunity to play a role in MaineHealth’s vision for its communities and to be a part of the historic clinical-IT transformation that the organization has undertaken.
In addition to Crowder, two seasoned clinicians have joined the team leading MaineHealth’s Information Systems (IS) division:
