MaineHealth MedAccess Program

MedAccess Information

Who can get help?
Anyone who needs help saving money on prescription medications.

How does it work?
MedAccess staff will work with you to lower your medication costs. There are many programs you may qualify for - plus discount generic programs that are available to EVERYONE at most pharmacies.

What's a patient assistance program?
Patient assistance programs are free-medication programs offered by the pharmaceutical companies for people who cannot afford to buy their medications. We work with you and your doctor's office to complete the paperwork for the PAP and follow up to make sure you're getting your medicine. Medicine is either sent to you or to your doctor, depending on each particular company's rules.

We'll also teach you other ways to get your medications through federal, state and local programs you may qualify for. We provide education about low-cost generic medications and help you find out which pharmacies have the best prices for your medicine.

How much does MedAccess cost?
There's no charge to you or your doctor for our services.

Am I eligible for help from MedAccess?
Yes, if you take prescription medications.

Whom do I call?
You (or your doctor) call toll-free 877-275-1787 or 207-662-7968. We have local staff in Augusta, Belfast, Biddeford, Damariscotta, Norway, Portland and Waterville.

How is this program possible?
MedAccess is part of the MaineHealth CarePartners Program. It's funded by MaineHealth and administered at several area hospitals.
