Barbara Chilmonczyk, M.D., Receives American Lung Association in Maine's 2009 Roselle Huddilston Award
Portland, ME - October 13, 2009 - Barbara Chilmonczyk, M.D., clinical advisor for the MaineHealth AH! Asthma Health Program, received the American Lung Association in Maine's 2009 Roselle Huddilston award at the Lung Association's annual meeting October 9. The award recognizes Chilmonczyk's volunteer efforts and her dedication to developing the curriculum for the Maine Asthma Educators Institute, a model adopted for the national curriculum.
"Dr. Chilmonczyk's dedication to professional excellence is matched by her determination to provide the highest quality of care and improved quality of life to those living with asthma and allergies," said Vance Brown, M.D., chief medical officer for MaineHealth. "Her work at MaineHealth has had a positive impact on a statewide level," added Brown.
Chilmonczyk is an asthma and allergy specialist practicing with Allergy and Asthma Associates of Maine in Portland. In addition to her work with MaineHealth, Chilmonczyk serves as the medical director for Maine Medical Center's AH! Asthma Health Program.
The Roselle Huddilston Award was created in 1957 in honor of Roselle Huddilston, a past president of the American Lung Association in Maine and an exceptional volunteer dedicated to improving the health of Maine's citizens. The award is presented annually.
