To be eligible for CarePartners an applicant must reside in one of the CarePartners program service areas for a period of at least 6 months, or have a participating provider.
Greater Portland: Office in Portland; Buxton, Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Falmouth, Freeport, Gorham, Gray, North Windham, North Yarmouth, Portland, Raymond, Scarborough, South Portland, South Windham, Standish, Steep Falls, Westbrook, Windham Center, Yarmouth.
Lincoln County: Office in Damariscotta
Kennebec County: Offices in Augusta & Waterville
Waldo County: Office in Belfast
Lack of Healthcare Insurance:
Applicants cannot be eligible for health care insurance through government sponsored programs, which include, but are not limited to: MaineCare (formerly known as Medicaid), Cub Care, Medicare, and Veterans Benefits.
Applicants cannot have an income of more than 175% (200% in Lincoln and Waldo Counties) of the federal poverty guidelines, after considering certain allowable deductions to income. Applicants are required to provide a tax return to document the most recent annual income, in addition to proof of current earned income (wages), and proof of any current unearned income. There is a $10,000 asset limit for an individual, $12,000 for a couple. Excluded assets include an applicant’s home; one vehicle and any additional work related assets.
Applicants to CarePartners must be between the ages of 19-64. (May be eligible if over age 65 if do not qualify for Medicare due to not working enough quarters during lifetime).
