Dan Hanley Memorial Trust Awards Feature MaineHealth Family Members
(July 7, 2003) — MMC and MaineHealth are proud to have some of the family among those recognized by the Dan Hanley Memorial Trust in June.
The Dan Hanley Memorial Trust honors the life and work of the late Daniel F. Hanley, MD (1916-2001), long-time college physician of Bowdoin College, chief physician for eight years to the United States Olympic Team, executive director of the Maine Medical Association, and editor of the MMA's journal.
Among the awards given at its June 20 awards luncheon, the Trust recognized "honorees" from a wide variety of locations and roles in the fields of medicine and health. Honorees included:
- Lisa Letourneau, MD, Director of Clinical Integration at MaineHealth, "for her leadership and collaboration...to improve care and outcomes for patients with chronic illness."
- Donald McDowell, past president of MaineHealth and Maine Medical Center, "for more than 20 years of leadership in Maine health care."
- Victoria Rogers, MD, attending physician at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center Ambulatory Clinic, "for leadership in pediatric care and education programs."
