Dear Medical Student:
Thank you for your interest in fourth year rotations at the Maine Medical Center. Please review our our offered electives and complete the application.
Fourth year students, in good academic standing, that are enrolled in a medical school accredited by the AAMC/AMA , Association of American Medical Colleges/American Medical Association (US and Canada only) or by the AOA, American Osteopathic Association (US and Canada only), may apply for clinical rotations at Maine Medical Center.
Rotation dates at Maine Medical Center are based on a four-week block schedule.
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, based upon receipt of a completed application. You will be notified via email whether or not your application has been approved, unless applying for a Psychiatry rotation, in which case you will be notified via regular mail. Please allow at least four weeks for notification.
If accepted for a rotation at Maine Medical Center, you will need to provide us with the following:
- A completed Health Screening Form
- A letter of Good Standing from your university
- A Certificate of Liability Insurance

Housing for Student Electives is at Crescent Heights. All rooms are single occupancy in suites of 5-6 rooms. Bed and bath linens are not provided and bathrooms are communal. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave. Limited cooking supplies are available. Please indicate on your application if housing is needed.
Rotations that are off cycle from MMC block dates are ineligible for student housing.
