Maine Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and all PGY-1 residents in the institution are selected by this process. All applications will be handled according to the rules of the plan. We accept applications only through the use of Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We ask each applicant to make every effort to get all information to us by mid-November. After all of these materials have been received, the application will be reviewed and a decision made concerning a personal interview. Within two weeks of receiving your completed application, we will notify you via ERAS about whether or not we are able to offer you an interview. If an interview is granted, the notification will request that you call the department to arrange the interview. Interviews are offered on Thursdays, Fridays and some Wednesdays.
Interviews are scheduled from November through the end of January. They provide opportunities to discuss the program with the Residency Director, faculty, and residents, and to tour the hospital and outpatient facilities. The interview day begins at 7:00 AM and ends in the mid-afternoon.
