The STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, & Injuries) Toolkit
Researchers at the CDC’s Injury Center have created the STEADI Tool Kit for healthcare providers who treat older adults who are at risk of falling or have fallen in the past. The tool kit offers information and tools to assess and address older patients’ fall risk. While the tool kit was created primarily for practices, it contains information that can be useful to all.

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls
Many older adults experience a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. A Matter of Balance includes eight two-hour sessions for a small group led by a trained facilitator.
