Medical/Surgical Nursing Certification

DonJohnsonCertification.jpgWestern Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, is pleased to announce that Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Registered Nurse Don Johnson has successfully taken and passed his Medical/Surgical Certification.

The Medical/Surgical Nursing Certification is accredited through the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) which is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA).  This rigorous program required Don to meet several requirements and pass a certification exam.

Don has been a staff nurse at Stephens Memorial Hospital since 2008.  Don is dedicated to providing the best patient care possible and understands the importance of continuing to grow and learn throughout his career.  In order to pass this exam Don was required to take a 16 week course to prepare to sit for the exam.  Many hours were spent studying the vast areas of knowledge required to be successful in obtaining certification.

Stephens Memorial Hospital is a Leapfrog 2013 Top Rural Hospital and is a member of MaineHealth.
