Parent and Child Health
One of our highest priorities is helping infants have a healthy start in life. Specially trained pediatric nurses care for women who face high-risk pregnancies, newborns who have critical healthcare needs, and parents who need guidance and support.
Our pediatric team of nurses, therapists and home health aides care for children up to the age of 18 who have special needs, recovering from surgery or facing the challenges of a serious illness. Our agency was awarded a state grant to provide health promotion and education to new parents and their infants.
Baby Erin, born at 30 weeks with a weight of only three pounds, six ounces, required extensive care. Once Erin was strong enough to go home, she was cared for by Nancy Hewett, a specially trained pediatric nurse with HomeHealth Visiting Nurses. Nancy monitored her growth, development and weight. Erin's mom remarked, "not only did Nancy keep my daughter healthy, she went out of her way to help with my family's other urgent needs."
