Annual appeal donations are used to support programs and services needing funds to maintain operations.
We are the recipient of several grant programs including United Way of Great Portland, United Way of York County, State of Maine: Parent and Child Health Program, Davis Foundation, and Thaxter Foundation. These funds support specific home health initiatives.
Each year, HomeHealth Visiting Nurses receives over $200,000 from cities and towns in our service area to offset the costs of charity/uncompensated care. Each municipal request is based on the number of patients served, total value of services and amount of charity/uncompensated care. See the list of generous municipalities here.
A remembrance gift is a lasting tribute in honor or in memory of a loved one. Your gift can recognize a birthday, anniversary, holiday or other special occasion, or express sympathy and support at the time of loss. The Development Department will send a letter to the family of the person you wish to honor or memorialize and an acknowledgement letter to the donor.
HomeHealth Bequest Society
By including HomeHealth Visiting Nurses in your will, you can honor your values and have a lasting impact on the health care of your community. Bequests provide many benefits including the ability to distribute assets according to your wishes, realize potential tax savings and create a legacy for the future. Your gift can be stated as a dollar amount, percentage of your estate or specific property.
To ensure that home care services are available today and in the future, you may consider a contribution to the HomeHealth Endowment Fund. Much more than a one-time gift, contributions to this fund grow as the principal is invested and earns income each year. Proceeds from our endowment are invested to meet the charitable needs of our patients.
You can extend financial support to a specific program or service by naming HomeHealth Visiting Nurses as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy.
To discuss how you can make a difference in the lives of our patients, please contact our Development Department at (800) 660-4867.
